The Craney Island Eastward Expansion project team also recognizes and embraces the importance of civic involvement and active citizenship. Contractor Open House February 21, 2008 The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will host a second Contractor Open House for vendors and sub-contractors interested in upcoming contract opportunities associated with the Craney Island Eastward Expansion. The purpose of the Open House is to provide important new project details including an overview of the selected dike design concept, construction cost estimates, materials quantities, permitting, and project schedule. The agenda will also include an overview of contracting and procurement methods. This event is a don’t miss opportunity to gain valuable new insight into this multi-million dollar marine construction project.
