Academic Outreach Program

The VPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to establish a relationship with local school and faculty, in an effort to bring this project to students, as a real-world opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom. Our science and engineering experts are available to work with the appropriate faculty in coordinating lesson plans, site visits to Craney Island, science projects, and guest lectures. There may be opportunities for cooperative education, in which students interested in the disciplines of science and engineering can shadow our experts in the field.

Educators: Ask An Expert

Educators we would like to support your efforts to empower children with new ideas. To this end, we invite you to ask our science and engineering experts for ideas on new and innovative lesson plans, science projects and questions related to the Craney Island Eastward Expansion.
