agility logo cityofportsmouth On behalf of the City of Portsmouth, I would like to express my support for the Craney Island Eastward Expansion project. We are greatly encouraged by the efforts to develop a new marine terminal, which will support local, regional, and state-wide economic stimulus.

cornerstone systems The Craney Island Eastward Expansion addresses many regional concerns including the critical need for future dredged material disposal capacity. Representing a large component of the regional economy, Hampton Roads’ shipping and ship building industries, as well as the military, rely on Craney Island to handle dredged material resulting from regular maintenance dredging within Norfolk Harbor. These channels represent a lifeline for regional economic growth and the future success of Virginia’s ports and supply chain industries.
NG VMA On behalf of the entire membership of the Virginia Maritime Association (VMA), I want to express our continued support for the Craney Island Eastward Expansion project. The VMA is a non-profit trade association founded in 1920 with the mission of promoting, protecting, and encouraging commercial shipping through The Port of Virginia. The VMA boasts a membership of over 550 parties directly or indirectly involved in the flow of waterborne commerce. As “the voice of the Port” representing these interested parties, we fully support the expansion of Craney Island for additional dredged material disposal and future port development.
